Founder and Principal David S. Brose earned a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan and has directed over 20 seasons of archaeological excavation in Europe and throughout North America. A member of Sigma Xi, the national honorary scientific research society, and former fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, David is a Registered Professional Archaeologist and is accredited by the National Association of Professional Appraisers. David was founding editor of the Mid-Continental Journal of Archaeology and author of numerous books, professional and general articles and chapters, and public guides and brochures on prehistoric culture and historical archaeology. He has also written over 100 technical and cultural resource management studies for not-for-profit cultural and historical organizations, government agencies and private corporations. As Inter-Governmental Appointee to the National Park Service and as Advisor to Government Accounting Office Joint Task Forces, he has helped design and audit long-term projects across the country, appraising collections’ fiscal and historic value to develop curation policies. He has been formally recognized by the Society for American Archaeology and the Department of the Interior for his leadership in preserving the nation’s heritage. David has been elected to historic preservation agencies, scientific and educational panels, cultural foundation boards, and grant review panels. He has been a Museum Assessor for the American Association of Museums accreditation program. He has earned praise teaching archaeology, history, cultural resource management, and museum studies at colleges, universities, and agency workshops across North America.
